Full-time degree-seeking undergraduate students are eligible for Dean’s List if their term GPA is greater than or equal to 3.400; they do not have any grades of "Incomplete", "D" or "F"; and they have registered for, and completed, at least 12 credit hours. Academic Award - Jan 3 Top academic achievers honored as RIT Outstanding Undergraduate Scholars The Outstanding Undergraduate Scholar Award celebrates the top 1% of undergraduate students who achieve academic excellence while also giving back to the community through civic or volunteer work, by conducting research, or being engaged in a co-op or work in their field of study. Academic Award - 2023 Apr 4 Top academic achievers honored as RIT Outstanding Undergraduate Scholars Since 1976, RIT has honored the top 1% of undergraduate students who are able to maintain a high standard of academic excellence while also giving back to their community through civic or volunteer work, conducting research, or being engaged in co-op or work in their field of study. Academic Award - 2021 Jun 14 First-year students awarded Performing Arts Scholarships Since 2019, more than 1,800 RIT students have received Performing Arts Scholarships, renewable for up to five years, as long as the students stay involved in performing arts. The students come from each of RIT’s nine colleges, with the majority from engineering and computer sciences. Scholarship - 2023 Nov 28 RIT Esports wins national collegiate ’Counter-Strike 2’ championship RIT Esports is coming home with another national championship. On Dec. 3, the Counter Strike 2 team won the 2023 Grand Finals of the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE) Varsity Premier league-the most competitive league that NACE offers. This is RIT’s eighth national championship in esports. Sports - 2023 Dec 6 Performing Arts Scholarship Since 2019, more than 1,400 RIT students have received Performing Arts Scholarships, renewable for up to five years, as long as the students stay involved in performing arts. The students come from each of RIT’s nine colleges, with the majority from engineering and computer sciences. Scholarship - 2022 Oct 18 Congrats to RIT’s 2022-2023 graduates! conferred more than 4,800 degrees at all of its campuses in the 2022-2023 academic year. RIT’s academic convocation celebration was held in May and featured remarks by Thomas Zurbuchen, astrophysicist and the longest continually serving associate administrator for the Science Mission Directorate in NASA’s history. Graduation - 2023 Jul 24 Congrats to RIT’s 2021-2022 graduates! conferred more than 4,300 degrees at all of its campuses in the 2021-2022 academic year. RIT’s 137th academic convocation celebration was held in May and featured remarks by Kimberly Bryant, founder of the nonprofit organization Black Girls CODE. Graduation - 2022 Jul 20 Excellence in Student Life Award RIT has been honoring students for this award since 1964 as a way to recognize students who were able to find the balance between academic success and student engagement. Students have been selected for this honor based upon having GPAs over 3.4, and holding significant leadership positions within RIT-related activities. All award recipients are graduating in 2021. Academic competition - 2021 Jul 29 Congrats to RIT’s 2020-2021 graduates! conferred more than 4,000 degrees at all of its campuses in the 2020-2021 academic year. Due to New York state COVID-19 occupancy restrictions, commencement was celebrated May 14-15 in smaller ceremonies by college and were live-streamed for graduates’ family and friends. Graduation - 2021 Jul 19 Students awarded international fellowships and scholarships International fellowships and scholarships are financial awards granted to students to support study, research, or work abroad. Study Abroad - 2021 Jun 15 Keegan Evans named to prestigious Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training Program RIT student Keegan Evans will take his place this summer among a group of young Air Force officers from around the globe who have been selected for the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training program. The RIT Air Force ROTC cadet was selected from among hundreds of ROTC students for one of the U.S. Air Force’s most elite flight training programs. Military Achievement - 2020 Dec 10 Pandemic inspires student to create interactive narrative game about isolation In a new game created by RIT student Sean Arnold ’20 (game design and development), players must navigate paranoia and loneliness in order to make it off an isolated ship alive. Sean was inspired by his experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic to create an interactive narrative game called The Peresmeshnik.
